THE MELODY CLUB

Singer and songwriter Emma Sophina's life took a dramatic turn earlier this

year. With dreams of finding inspiration for her music, Emma took the long

journey to the United States from her home in Perth, Australia. She found

inspiration, but not where she or anyone else could have expected to.

A week into her trip, Emma boarded US Airways Flight 1549 from New York

to Charlotte to visit some friends. That routine flight quickly turned

terrifying. Minutes after takeoff, the plane was struck by birds and lost

power in both engines, a seemingly impossible and tragic event. The only

thing more impossible was the heroism of Captain Chesley Sullenberger and the crew, who miraculously safely

landed the plane in the Hudson River, saving, and changing, the lives of everyone on board. Having been

granted the miracle of life a second time, Emma found the inspiration she was looking for, and the result is a

five song EP entitled “Wake Up” based on her experience and new outlook on life.

The first song she wrote after the crash, "Send Another Prayer," serves as a thank you to the pilots of that

fateful flight. Emma had the opportunity to perform her songs in front of the pilots and many of the crash

survivors on national television shows including; The CBS Early Show, Larry King Live and Fox & Friends.

Those appearances were seen by several record executives and less than a month after the crash, Emma

signed a recording contract with Universal Music Group's Decca Records.

Emma has been hard at work, adjusting to her new life in the Big Apple and recording uplifting and inspiring

hits like "Wake-Up," "Miracle" and "Good Morning World," in anticipation of her July 14th EP release.

"I am truly blessed for every extra day I am given here," says Emma. "I have made a dedication to myself to

spend the rest of my life working to provide inspiration for others."

Burger Blog 1

Hi All,

Since moving to NYC I seem to have a new appreciation for Burgers! I used to be a Pizza girl, now it's burgers. So I'm on the search for the best burgers in NYC. So far, Shake Shack, BRGR, The Burger Joint and Stand have been the major ones I've tried.

I'm going to blog about these and start searching out more places to try. At the same time I'm going to be jumping back on the treadmill to work off the pounds!

If you have tried a burger in NYC that you want me to check out and blog about, let me know where and I'll head there.

At this stage it's just NYC, but later in the year I'll be heading to Texas, Phoenix and a few other places. I'll put the word out for those places when I'm heading there!

Australia's Channel 7 Sunrise

Going to be crossing live from NYC for an interview on Sunrise Monday morning (Australian time). Interview will be at 8:40am with Mel Doyle and Grant Denyer. It's to promote the airing of the documentary "Miracle on the Hudson". There will also be a sneek preview of my single "Wake Up".

Australian Release

onwards and upwards

Firstly, very excited about performing "Wake Up" on Channel 11's WPIX Morning Show.

Secondly, this week has been a very productive week.

Just when I though that things were going VERY slowly, things like the Australian Network 7 contact me to say they are going to air a Doco on the Hudson Plane Crash in the next couple of weeks and they are wanting me to do interviews! More open doors I didn't expect and came from no where and were unplanned by the team here, in NYC!

Those of you that know me, know I believe in God. I believe faith & the act of faith, as it talks about in Hebrews are both so important. It's all good to have faith but unless you are proactively doing things in the natural the supernatural can't happen.
